The active model for anonymization. The menu lists downloaded local models, local models available for download, and enabled models from any remote endpoints. Switching local models restarts the background llama-server; switching to a remote model takes effect immediately.
Output location
Section titled “Output location”Where anonymized copies are written:
- Same folder as the original
- Custom folder: one fixed directory for all output
Until you pick one, output goes to Piixie’s own outputs folder inside its app data directory (see data storage for the path per platform).
Output filenames take the form <id>__<name>, where <id> is the first characters of the run’s document ID, so a file can always be traced back to its history entry. The filename itself is anonymized too: if the original was invoice-marcus-patel.pdf, the PII in the name gets the same treatment as the body.
Image handling
Section titled “Image handling”Image analysis and redaction is automatic for PDFs processed with a vision-capable model. When the selected model lacks vision and a file contains images, Piixie asks per run whether to continue text-only or auto-blur all embedded images; the prompt includes a “yes for all” option for batch runs. See supported file formats.
