2. Browse normally

3. PII detected & replaced
Names, IDs, addresses, phone numbers — detected by a local AI model and swapped with realistic fake data before leaving your machine.
4. Responses de-anonymized
When the LLM responds using the fake data, Piixie maps it back to your real information. You see the correct context seamlessly.

Piixie Browser scans all outbound content — text messages, file uploads, inline images, and pasted documents.
Chat messages
Every message you send to the LLM passes through the proxy. Names, addresses, IDs, and other PII are anonymized before transmission.
File uploads
PDFs, DOCX, spreadsheets, and text files uploaded to LLMs are scanned and anonymized on the fly. The LLM receives a clean copy.
Inline images
Base64-encoded images and pasted screenshots are intercepted. If they contain visible PII, the proxy blocks or redacts before sending.

Security Model

If Piixie cannot guarantee that outbound data was scanned — detection engine not ready, body undecodable, file type unsupported — it returns a 503 instead of leaking plaintext. Your data never leaves unprotected.
503 on uncertainty
If the proxy cannot verify a request was scanned, it blocks rather than forwards. No silent failures.
Session-isolated cache
Detection is cached per-document, but synthetic values resolve per-session. No identity leaks across sessions.
Encoding-safe
Handles gzip, deflate, brotli on requests and responses with a 64 MiB decompression bomb cap. Streamed SSE with chunk-boundary buffering.
