1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you", "your") and Gigantics ("we", "us", "our"), the company behind Piixie. By accessing our website at piixie.ai or using the Piixie desktop application, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our website or products.

2. Description of Service

Piixie is a local-first data anonymization application that detects and removes personally identifiable information (PII) from documents. The software runs on your machine and processes data locally. Optional features may connect to external services (such as third-party LLM providers) only when explicitly configured by you.

3. Account Registration

Some features may require you to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. License and Use

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Piixie for your internal business or personal purposes. You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software.
• Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the software.
• Rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, or distribute the software to third parties.
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels.
• Use the software for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.

5. Your Data

Piixie processes your documents locally on your device. We do not collect, access, or store the content of your files. You retain full ownership of and responsibility for your data. We are not responsible for data loss resulting from hardware failure, software bugs, or user error.

6. Pricing and Payment

Piixie offers free and paid tiers. Pricing is described on our website and may change with notice. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance. Refunds are handled in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws.

If you fail to pay fees when due, we may suspend or terminate your access to paid features.

7. Free Tier

The free tier is provided as-is with usage limitations. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the free tier at any time without notice.

8. Intellectual Property

Piixie, its logo, and all related content, features, and functionality are owned by Gigantics and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks, trade names, or branding without prior written consent.

9. Third-Party Services

Piixie may allow you to connect to third-party LLM providers (such as AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, or Ollama). These integrations are optional and governed by the respective provider's terms of service. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their handling of your data.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Piixie is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the software will detect all PII in every document, that results will be error-free, or that the service will be uninterrupted. You are responsible for reviewing anonymized output before sharing.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gigantics shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

• Your use of or inability to use the service.
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers or personal data.
• Any interruption or cessation of the service.
• Any bugs, viruses, or errors in the software.

Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Gigantics and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the service or violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Gigantics is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the revised Terms on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Gigantics regarding the use of Piixie.
